I'm going to dance with my wife for a while.
To, music, that, I think is just perfect for the moment.
As the old year goes, and. the new one comes.
The wife in my arms, yesterday, will find herself in my arms, the next day, again.
Still dancing, celebrating our love for each other, still in my arms in warm embrace.
Letting ,go of things, we did not mean to say, to each other.
Or, that we, regreted later, and that it turns out to be a small nothings, lucky us.!
We know each other well.
And the next song will come.
I know the song.
More memories will flash, and the love with it, again.
Rod Stewart. "It Had To Be You" The Great American Songbook 1".
And, so, it begins again.
The songs.
In a diffenrent light.
Good ones.
All the songs are good!!!
So, before it ends.
Play love songs.
To Lovers.
Before, they end.
Playing good music.
For them, good lovers.
For the Last time, before they loose it.
.Play , For All We Know.
0800, wife woke me up, she needs to be at work by 0900.
Did, the usual, sandals, bathroom, pee, washed face, combed hair, and grabbed keys to car and out we went.
Made it on time.
On the way home took the car to the CarSpa, for an oil change, plus other things they allways find.
It set me back a few bucks, but, well spent.I Hope.
Got back home, picked mail from mail box.
What a big surprise,it was to find Time.
THE PERSON OF THE YEAR, issue.
"YOU, YES, YOU. YOU CONTROL THE INFORMATION AGE. WELCOME TO YOUR WORLD."
Inside it, like a pharmacy,; it has a lot of stuff.
So, I flipped rhe pages, and, early on, I found the NoteBook section.
Qoutes.
"Be angry at us, and die of this anger", Mahmoud A, President of Iraq.'' Blunt he is.
"Every decade has an iconic blond like Marilyn Monroe or Princess Diana, and right now, I am that icon" Paris Hilton
I got news for you, you are famuos, because you have a name.
Good looks and hate, not good, allways
Unless, put to good use.
Misguided people, are just that.
And, when you are dumb, that is what it is.

Another one is about to end, 365 days to go around the papa Sun ride, the ship is still good, after the ride.
So, the days went by, some good and some bad, some wonderful and some, sad.
We aged a little, and we learned a bunch, I hope; waking up, again, is great; finish it with no regrets.
This was the first year, my wife & I, did not have Athena near by, and I miss my daughter, big, huge!!
She came for the summer with the kids, Jade & Julian, and stayed for six weeks, I hope they had fun.
We did, my wife & I, having them around was a blast.
But, while my life is ok, the world around me seems to be a mess.
In Darfur, people are dying from hunger.
Iraq, is full of hate, and it's citizens, too many of them, have guns.
New Orleans, is our Venice.
Bush, is not a mental giant.
War, brings horror, to those in it.
The Yankees need to get back to the World Series.
I need to down less beers.
Mikki & Athena & Julian & Jade, make life worth living.
I could say a lot more, but, I better stop.
Happy new Year.
Looking back just now, I see what kind of friend I've been.
The only friends, I've had, are the ones's from my youth.
They knew me, I knew them.! We knew each other, we like each other too.!!!
I was looking for a phone number today, and, looking, I found a lot of people's stuff..
Man, I have been carriyng a lot of people, for a long time.
The time has come to let go.
They are all gone, my bests of friends.
And those who have never been too.!!!
They never called.!!
Keep in touch, allways, if, you want to be a friend.
Carpe Diem.
All I know, is that it was about 9AM ,when she came to my room ,and asked me to drive her to the Regency Square Mall.
Athena, my daughter, had seen an advertisement by Sears, about digital cameras going to be sold for just $50.00!!!
So, she woke me up early, to be one of the first on the line.
You know, the line is probably around the block, before you get there, I said to her, it's late already.!!
And she said, no daddy, just get up, or, we are going to be late.
So, I got up, put on my sandals, went to the bathroom, peed, brushed my teeth, combed my hair.
Picked up a hat, and told her, ok, lets go!
We get there, and sure enough, the biggest line I have seen, since the line I made to see Star Wars, a very long time ago, in New York, at 43rd and Broadway.
Daddy, she sighs, Am not getting one!!; Look at this line, they will all be gone by the time I get to the front!
I just kept telling her to hang in there, to not lose hope, just triyng to keep her mind on her goal, the camera.
The line, kept going forward, and Athena, closer, as it advanced to the counter, and I, just a step behind her, making sure she was ok.
Finally, she is just behind two other people, and, she can see the counter, and, there are just two cameras left.
She had to ask!!!; she tapped the person ahead, and asked "Are you here for the camera" , the answer was, "yes".
Then she went after the next customer, and the answer? The same; So all was lost, the camera was gone, there were no more of them.
And then, she was next, and she tells the clerk, 'I'm here for the camera", and, he gives her the truth, He told her "Im sorry, but, we just ran out"; She turns to me and, she just look so sad, and about to cry too.
Hey, I say to the counter guy, can you just look around, and, see, if there is another one in there, somewhere.?
He looks, and, looks, there, under the counter, in the shelves above and below, and, he finds one.!!!
The guy brings it to Athena, to inspect, She goes nuts, she gives me a hug, a hug like no other before, she got her camera, and, she is happy.
Youuuuuuuuu, are the best Daddy in the world. Thank you Daddy.
Pay the guy!
*************************************************************************************************************************************
We just bought a new camera for Athena.
It cost a lot more, but, we din't have to make a line for it.
And, she, is happy. again.
Mikki (my wife) & I got big, bear hug like embraces, again.
But, that, is the last camera I buy.
I'm afraid, she will break my ribs, with her next hug.
I went to Wall-Mart, with my nephew Alexander, to return a vacum.
The thing, after being used, a couple of times, started to blow smoke. So I went back to Wall-Mart.
The line was short, and behind me, there came a lady.
She didn't seem to have anything to return, so, I asked her, What are you here for?
And she showed me a bag.
There was a fish in it, dead.
I asked what happened?
My fish, is dead, she said, and I want my money back.!!
Was it swiming, when it died? I asked her.
I don't care, I want my money back!!
Maybe, it only swims in Wall-Mart water, I said.
You should have bought the water here too, for the fish.
And then, she was next.
The teller asked her, Can I help you?
The lady said yes, My fish is dead, and I want my money back!!
What happened? she asked,
My fish is dead, and I want my money back!
She gave the teller the reciept.
And the teller gave her back, $1.88.
The Beatles rock band, wrote a while back, in a song, "Yesterday, seem so far away".
Today, I'm looking back and I remember, some of the things, that I will never forget.
My Mother, she never got to see her son, (me) grow, to be a man.
My Father, never knew me.
Victor Archaga and Gonzalo Rodriguez, the best of friends in school.
Ivonne, Juliette and Ivette, for being there, at the same time, in the same school.
The six of us, going to the park. That was fun..
Athena, Yaya, and Jade.
Mikki, the greates of my yesterdays.
I, miss a lot, but, not that much.
But, I cannot do it, without Mikki
She , is my compass..
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live? Why?

Athens, where it all began. When life was so simple, and, yet, complicated.
When, theatre was better than sports. And sports, provided good drama for those who like theater.
To be given a class, by Socrates, Plato, or Aristotle, was priceless.!!
And, today nobody gets it.
Plus, every day, was a toga party.!!
My grandaughter, Jade, is having her first big day, today.
Athena, my daughter, and Chris, Jade's father, are giving her a party. An event like this, you know, is big and true.
This is like a debutante ball.!!! They are going to show Jade, to their friends, dressed as a little princess.
I can just imagine, Jade, entering the room, where everybody, invited to the event is just waiting for her arrival.
The kids invited, are restless, of course, they can't wait to get to the cake.!!!! And Jade, is late.
All of a sudden, my daughter Athena, makes them all aware, she is at the door, everybody cheers!!!!
The guest are so happy, the little one's there too, at last, they can get to the yummy birthday cake.
At last, they will be able to have a party that will be talked about, until, somebody else, does the same for their kid.
The birthday girl, no ordinary kid this one (she is my grandaughter,ok) makes an entrance, as no other.
The stroller comes in, being pushed by her very proud father, Christen, who drives her to the middle of the living room, and, let's all the invited know; "The birthday girl is in the living room, let the party begin".
Is at this very moment when, I think that, if Jade could talk, Jade, turns to her mom, and ask, "Can I have something to drink, Mom, to toast the guest?."
And Athena, opens her blouse, takes out one of her breasts from her bra, and feeds the guest of honor, the gift of life.
Happy Birthday Jade.
Love ya, Grandpa.
We do a lot of things, daily, that in the end, at the end of the day, amount to nothing.
I just happen to know a young man; He is a second degree nephew of mine, as I'm married to his Aunt.
His name is Robert, he is a soldier, in the service of the United States army; He is young, in his early 20's, who just happens to know, that, at the end of his day, what he did, means a lot to those that he fights, to the one's that he protects, and, to the one's that he loves.
The Army, just called him back for a second tour of duty.
Good man, good soldier that he is; when the bell tolled, for him, he answered.
He went back to Iraq; To the desert, and the heat of the daylight hours, and the cold that comes down, and, when the Sun drops from view far in the horizon.
The last time I saw Robert, was at he's wedding, in San Antonio.
He looked happy, but his eyes, betrayed him; There is a look of pain in them, his eyes; Only war, can do that to a man.
Who knows what he saw, who knows what he did. And yet, He went back.!
He went back to fight a war he did not start; He went back to end a war, that needs to end, so that he can go back to his country, to his home, and to his family,
The Robert, that will come back from this war, is not the same Robert, we know and love.
The Son, the Father, the husband, the grandson, the brother, the cousin, the nephew, is not the same kid, that went to fight a war.
He is a very smart, and brave young man.
Lets hope the fog of war, does not cloud the rest of his life.
